Frequently Asked Questions

Can the same team be entered more than once in a contest?
No, a team may only be entered into a specific contest one time. You may, however, enter multiple teams into a contest.

Can I cancel an entry to a contest?
No. Entries, once confirmed, are final.

Why can't I see the other contestant's team rosters right away?
Players on other user's team rosters are not revealed until after their event starts. This is done to prevent a user from copying another user's team.

Why can I not edit a team name?
Once a team name is submitted it becomes assigned to a specific user to avoid confusion and complications. Teams may be canceled or new teams created using a different team name if the user wishes to do so, but any team name, once saved, is no longer editable.

Why are there no open contests when the season is still going?
Occasionally an active sport will have no open contests. We reprice players once a week, and to ensure that all teams are entered with the same player prices there is a period of time before we reprice that no contests are open for entry. This time will occur from the start of the last contests on a Monday night until they are settled.

What happens to my teams in the case of a canceled game or a rain out?
Any team entered with a player that has an event canceled or rained out will be removed from all contests that they are in and given a full refund. There are no exceptions. Prize pools will be adjusted and paid out accordingly whenever this occurs.

What are the different sports Overview pages for?
Each sport has its own Overview page that shows a variety of information. The entire week's upcoming schedule is displayed along with all of the different contest cycles for each individual day. The Overview page will also display the latest scores of each event as they play out.

What exactly are the three different types of Contests that are featured on the site?
Unlimited Contests are those that take an unlimited amount of entries. We pay out to 30% (thirty per cent) of the total number of entries in these Contests.
Ten Team Contests accept a maximum of ten entries and pay out to 30% (thirty per cent) of the total number of entries. These Contests will be played out with two or more entrants in them.
H2H (Head to Head) Contests are a team vs. team type of contest. The highest score, no matter what the total, is declared the winner in a winner take all competition.

What is an available player?
A player is listed as available when he has an opponent and an event scheduled within an open contest cycle. Basically, this means that a player that does not have a game scheduled will not be listed.

What defines an eligible team?
An eligible team must have a complete roster comprised of available players from a minimum of two squads whose total salary does not exceed $1000.

What happens when I edit a team that is in more than one contest?
Editing one of your teams changes that teams roster throughout the site. All contests that were previously entered with this team will be affected and will reflect the new edited roster.

What is playing for "FUN"?
Playing for Fun uses Player points instead of money to get familiar with how the game works. These fun contests follow the same rules as our real money contests. Users are awarded 500 Fun points upon registration to use as they see fit.

What happens with a Doubleheader?
A player is selected for a specific event, not a specific day. In the case of a scheduled Doubleheader each player from the double header will be listed twice, once for each event he has scheduled for the day. You must then select which event you wish to use the player in. The player will only earn points in the corresponding event that you have selected.
If a group of contests is already opened for entry before a Doubleheader is scheduled, only the original event that was included when the contests opened will be counted. This situation arises when a game is postponed and rescheduled as part of a Doubleheader for the following day.
You can always check which events are included in what contests on a sport's overview page.

Where can I see the contests that I have entered?
After you enter a contest you can find it in the My Contests section until that contest has been settled. You can also view any running contests on the Now Playing page. You can always look into any of your contests, whether settled or not, by running a Report. Clicking on the contest name on a Report will take you to that Contest page.

How are payouts distributed?
Payouts are made according to a calculus formula that derives the amount to be paid to each qualifying place. This formula guarantees a profit to the last qualifying place paid (with the exception of ties for the last position). The entire prize pool is distributed to thirty per cent (30%) of the total number of entries in the Ten Team Contests and to fifteen per cent (15%) of the entries in the Unlimited Contests. The H2H (Head to Head) Contests are a winner take all pay out.

How are player injuries dealt with?
Injury information is provided as a courtesy and its accuracy is not guaranteed. No refunds will be given based on incorrect injury information. A player will have an "inj" next to his name if there has been any current injury information received for that player. By hovering over the "inj" a pop-up will appear next to the player that indicates his projected status, as well as the reason for the injury. We recommend that you confirm a player's injury status prior to the start of scheduled events. In the case of a status change, you can edit a player in your lineup at anytime until that player's event begins.

How are rookies priced?
Rookies are priced equivalent to the average salary of all players in each specific sport. Since we re-price our players once a week, those salaries are quickly adjusted by either good performances or poor ones. We do not anticipate certain rookies to be better than others. Each player determines his salary by his performance on the field of play.

Exactly which statistics count towards an entrants score?
Only statistics accumulated from official games are counted towards an entrants score. Any team that has a player from a game that is canceled, rained out, suspended or postponed will cause the entry to be canceled and a full refund will be given.
